I offer relational, trauma-informed therapy to adults.

Ecotherapy and Hiking Therapy

Humans are part of nature and we tend to easily forget this with our modern, fast-paced lives that are increasingly disconnected from our outside world and overly reliant and addicted to screens. We are chronically over-stimulated. This leads to more suffering and further drives us away from nature, if we aren’t careful. Research shows a wealth of health benefits that come from affiliating with nature. There are even studies that show that patients recovering in hospitals from surgery that had a view of nature out their window or with nature scenes on the walls in their hospital rooms recover more quickly. Ecotherapy invites nature into mental health therapy as a healing modality. I am amazed at seeing the transformation that fostering a deeper connection to nature provides to many people. We can decide together how to allow nature as healer into our therapy sessions and your therapeutic goals.

In Tacoma, WA, I enjoy offering hiking therapy in my practice, for those that find it easier to process and open up when in the comfort of nature, walking side by side. Research shows that walking provides bilateral stimulation in the brain, which is known to help calm the nervous system, process emotion and reduce anxiety. This form of therapy is great for some and not for others. There are risks to confidentiality and privacy when doing therapy in nature. We will need to meet for at least a month to determine if hiking therapy is right for you. You set the pace of our hike and I will offer a number of trail options. I will be offering individual hiking therapy and an outdoor group in late winter, early spring of 2026 in Tacoma.

Traditional Talk Therapy

Sometimes, we just need to talk it out with a helpful and skilled person that isn’t too close to us that it muddies the waters. I aim to be both emotionally validating while holding you accountable to the changes you state you want and need to make in order to live a more sustainable, embodied and fulfilling life. I am a relational therapist to my core and aim to help you utilize our relationship as a vehicle for change and healing. I will compassionately share what I am noticing and provide you suggestions that are guided by a number of theories and evidence-based practices. Studies show the most important factor in therapy outcomes is the therapeutic relationship itself. I strive to create a therapeutic container that you feel supported and safe in. If we are not able to accomplish this, I am passionate about helping you find other referrals that may be a better fit for your needs.

Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy

Many people find themselves stuck and do not experience enough progress through talking and conventional psychiatric meds alone. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy allows for a safe way to explore an altered state with the support of a trained mental health therapist. Ketamine is well researched and is known for increasing neuroplasticity, which is lacking with presence of conditions like anxiety, PTSD, depression and more.

In order to be a candidate for KAP, you will need a medical evaluation from a licensed prescriber and a prescription you can self-administer during your scheduled dosing sessions. I do not have a degree or license to medically evaluate you or provide you with any prescriptions. I do have a list of providers in both OR and WA that I’m happy to refer you to if you don’t already know of a provider that has specialized training in ketamine therapy.

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy involves preparation, dosing and integration sessions. This is deep work and is best suited for those who are ready to leave coping mode and find more lasting change. Please be mindful of this additional time and emotional commitment. On dosing weeks, we will meet 2-3 times, usually an hour for 1-2 of those sessions and 2-3 hours for the dosing session.

KAP is not covered by insurance, although I aim to provide you referrals to prescribers who can bill your health insurance for your intake and follow up med management visits.
